Term 4 eveluation

Term four has whizzed by and we can’t believe that it is nearly Christmas.  Just like every other term, we have been extremely busy with lots of different experiences and exciting learning.
Some highlights for us have been Seed2Table with Joy.  We loved going into the kitchen every Friday and enjoyed the surprise of the menu each week.  Some of the skills we learned included dicing, chopping, trying new foods, whisking, mixing, planting, weeding, and identifying plants.  By far, the best part was celebrating our achievements and going to Ross Intermediate for our final week – the dessert (Eton mess) was definitely a big hit!
Athletics day was a great day filled with lots of activity and fun.  We pushed ourselves to the limits to achieve the best that we could.  Kiwi house won the overall points!
At the start of Term 4 we all completed PAT tests.  Without exception, every single member of Digibots made significant improvement on their results.  Approximately one-third of us were assessed at 2years above our current level and still did extremely well – what stars!
The end of term has seen us celebrating all of our wonderful achievements.  We had Monday Fun-Day to celebrate great learning.  This included wearing pjs, shared lunch, waterslide, treasure hunt, game of flags and a movie.
Reports went home on Tuesday and we were able to share with our families the fabulous progress we have made in 2011.

For next year my teacher is Nic.

Ahletics Post

This term we had athletics. We had the houses Kiwi Tui  Kereru and Kea.

I am in !!KIWI!!. We had allot of rotations. My favorite was discus  and shot-pot.

Because I came 2nd in discus .

It was really fun and hard but 1 rule have fun

 

 

my bird art

WALT: to use water colours effectively.Success Criteria:

  • I have used watercolours to make a background, blending yellow and red
  • Dabbed background to make it have a ‘splotchy’ effect
  • Contrasting colours between background and foreground (bird)
  • I have a bold vivid outline
  • My picture has an interesting range of shapes
  • I have used pastels to colour in shapes with vibrant colours
  • My bird is an abstract design (not realistic)

I think my bird is really cool with the Gold fevers and the Silver shapes

i like how i made the birds legs and tail .

Character sketch

“Paint a picture of your character with words”WALT: Write with imagery (show not tell)Imagery is the use of vivid description, usually rich in sensory words, to create pictures, or images, in the reader’s mind.

SMELL – TASTE – TOUCH – SIGHT – SOUND

TASK: Describe a character in a way that the reader gets a clear picture of them in their

mind.

Success Criteria:

  • I can Provide some interesting details about the character, (perhaps using an anecdote);
  • I can show the reader some honest feelings about the character;
  • I can use specific vocabulary, especially adjectives and verbs;
  • I can use language features that illustrate and support the image of the character (for example, similes [compare using ‘like’ or ‘as’] or dialogue)

My sis Aria

Once I was walking home I could se my sister was looking out side at me with her bright brown eyes. As she turned around her long smooth black hair. I went inside to my room and my sister was in there playing her baby disco wii game she loves it she has all ready clocked it. She is really talented and sporty she loves make-up.  When it gets dark she makes her bed and tucks her teddy bears in bed and goes to the table to eat tea. She gets into p.j’s and brushes her teeth then gets in bed. In the morning she wakes up has a shower and puts her bears on the draw. She goes to school because she loves it.
She has brown eyes dark smooth skin and straight black hair.

We had the school disco last night from 7’15 to 8’15 it was really fun.

Now what:
Now we are going to have the sports assembly today and on Monday is !!MONDAY FUN-FUN-DAY!!

A Day In The Life Of Invisible Bj

BJ’s Day
Once BJ was at the park. then he could see some boulders they were 12 feet high. when he did he went over to climb on them. He couldn’t get on so his mother helped him up. then the giant gray rocks rolled his mum looked then they rolled rite over his mum went over to get him but they rolled rite on top of him. his parents were terrified they couldn’t roll them back of. they couldn’t see him butt hey could here him.

A Day In A Life Of Invisible BJ
He was invisible his mum gave him a sock to hold so they could see him but when he touched the sock it disappeared with him. His mum gave him a balloon so the string disappeared but not the balloon he let go his mum painted him blue so they could see him.

When BJ went home and went in his room he was thinking about what he could do invisible. He could rob a bank, wear no clothes, even tame a shark! He wouldn’t need any money and could just walk in to a shop. he went to the shop and then he had to take small steps like a like a baby wet it pants so people didn’t hear him. He grabbed some mellow puffs. Lucky the mellow puffs disappeared when he touched them. He took them home he dropped them on the way home someone could see the cookies fall and then go invisible again. A couple hours later he ate the last mellow he thought he would turn back to being visible but he didn’t  so he went to the park to wait for his mum. Lucky he has a playground over his fence.His mum just got home when he was about to leave he was still blue so his mum still could see him after a wile he finally got to go to the playground he said to his mum  the flying fox was as far as four giraffes lying down.

When he was going down he was screaming like an mouse went up a elephants trunk . At the end there is two sticks you fling of so he done it and done a back flip in to the pool he stayed there for two hours. He wanted to go to the lake because there are some catfish there. They are in a cage so people don’t fall in there. BJ said “MUM CAN I GO TO THE CATFISH LA CAGES.
his mum answered “yes Bj I just need to paint you blue”.
Bj went to the catfish cages and one jumped up and splashed water on Bj then the paint got washed of him. Everyone could see he turn invisible. He painted his self red then green then washed his self of and he was visible again.

Goal: This week I want to focus on getting all the stuff on my checklist  finished.

Why: Because I am not very up to date rite now.

How: Keep working on the stuff on my checklist to monday week 8

and flat Stanley I have I mostly finished my M.M.M and character sketch.I like doing M.M.Ms and we had athletics this week I came 2nd in discus.I want to learn more about animating  and movie making

This week we went to Ross intermediate for seed 2 table this week this was our final week we just done cooking because we had to get back at 1pm.We had 6 kitchens to work in for the groups. There were three food kitchens and three sinks kitchens we were making a food named Eating Mess. It was really fun we made chicken meat balls and stuffing meat balls and for desert we had a pudding with strawberry cream and something else i don’t remember. we also had a type of pie called hunza pie.

It took long making it because we had to make the dough then put it in the frig for ten minutes. After we made it we got to eat it it was really yum the chicken balls tasted nicer the I thought it was really fun .
